I volunteered as a sound recordist for the Orkney Talking Newspaper from April 2019 to April 2022. What a great crew – I enjoyed myself a lot!

Orkney Talking Newspaper provides weekly copies of articles from The Orcadian, and quarterly copies of magazines using material from The Orcadian, Living Orkney and Orkney Farmer magazines. Articles are selected, read out loud, recorded, and shared as a podcast, and on CD and USB memory sticks. The service is aimed primarily at people with visual or physical impairments, and playback equipment can also be provided to local listeners on request.
