I am working with The Pier Arts Centre to deliver a series of creative workshops throughout Orkney as part of the Orkney Islands Council Orkney Matters Two consultation project. The sessions have been designed to gain views from across the community, especially from those whose voices are often less heard.

I am pleased to be holding workshops with Móti Collective (2 Nov), Orkney Blide Trust (22 Nov), Orkney Men’s Shed (26 Nov), Dynamic Youth (28 Nov), Youth Achievement (28 Nov), Army Cadets (1 Dec) and the Youth Forum (2 Dec), 2024.

Participants will be invited to consider and discuss the following talking points, which are at the heart of the wider Orkney Matters consultation:

  • What things do you like about where you live/What are the opportunities?
  • What are the barriers? What could be better?
  • How might you make it better?

In addition to providing written responses, participants will also be encouraged to make a visual response, and may contribute these to a future exhibition to be shown next year in the Pier Arts Centre in Stromness.
